Pratheek Sudhakaran, Ph.D., is an internationally recognized Building Scientist and expert in the field of High-Performance Buildings, Envelope Information Modeling and Bioinspired Architecture. He graduated from PiCA, University of Mumbai and is a registered architect with the Council of Architecture, New Delhi, India.

After his Master’s degree in Sustainable Architecture from IES College of Architecture, Mumbai he travelled to Spain to further explore his interests in sustainable design at the research centre at the Institute of Advanced Architecture of Catalonia in Barcelona. He is involved as a Research Fellow at the High-Performance Building Lab at Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, USA. He was awarded the prestigious Building Energy Efficiency Higher & Advanced Network Fellowship by the Indo-US Science & Technology Forum, House of Fulbright, New Delhi. He has been awarded various prestigious awards for his outstanding work in the field of Architectural Education, Practice & Research.

He was dynamically involved in Academia in several institutions across the country and served as the Director at Holy Crescent College of Architecture, Cochin and has been a member of the jury at several architecture colleges in the country.

His research-based design practice along with Ar Narayanan Kumar called CReA Projects has studios in Chennai, Bangalore and Cochin, carrying out cross-genre work, providing design solutions in the fields of architecture, interior design, product and furniture design, art to name a few.

He is a trained musician, theatre artist and is passionate about Sustainable design, Photography and Film making, having spoken and performed at various stages across the world.

He had recently given a TED talk (https://www.ted.com/talks/pratheek_sudhakaran_a_school_of_thought) on his role in Design education and has conducted hands-on design workshops in Ladakh, Paris, Auroville, Bhutan, Barcelona, and Istanbul. He has also published numerous papers in both National and International SCOPUS & SCI-indexed journals and has travelled far and wide across the globe to document destinations of architectural prominence for his upcoming book named – ‘India and her motorcycle'.

His approach is stimulated by the social and cultural dialogues and is characterised by a sense of curiosity and a research-based methodology.

He has a Ph.D. in Architecture from Amity University (on Bioinspired Architecture as an adaptation to Climate Change) and hopes to spend the rest of his life dedicated to building environmental sensitive buildings, working for social causes and inspiring young students of Design.
